Ambitious people are always searching for ways to succeed in life yet the interesting thing is that the seven step secret that reveals how to succeed is contained within the word itself. Let me reveal it to you.

The "S" in succeed stands for setting a goal.

The first step in succeeding at anything is to have a target to aim for. If you have a definite, clearly defined goal and you know why you want that particular goal and how it is going to enhance your life then you have already started on your journey to a successful life.

The "U" in succeed stands for unshakable belief.

In order to achieve your goal you have to believe, at the emotional level, that you will get that goal no matter what obstacles stand in your way. If that belief is total and unwavering then it activates your subconscious mind to work with you in making your goal a reality.

The first "C" in succeed stands for commitment.

If you want to be certain of achieving your goal then it is important that you commit to doing whatever it takes to get there. Most people are half hearted when it comes to commitment. Then when they hit an obstacle or setback they have no fuel to push them through. The people who get their goals have a level of commitment that simply will not take no for an answer and therefore they have enough emotional fuel to blast through any obstacle or setback that comes their way.

The second "C" in succeed stands for creating an action plan.

Even if you don't have any idea how you are going to get your goal you should brainstorm an action plan. Be confident in the knowledge that if your belief and commitment are strong enough then your subconscious mind will help you in creating your action plan.

Your action plan won't be set in concrete. It is simply a starting point to get you moving. As you will see below you are able to modify this plan as necessary along the way.

The first "E" in succeed stands for executing your action plan.

Until you take action your success is just a theory. It is action that turns dreams into reality. Your action should be full on, totally committed, goal directed, daily action. Throw out all your excuses and procrastinations and get yourself into gear and moving.

The second "E" in succeed stands for evaluate.

Once you take action you will get some sort of outcome resulting from that action. The next step is to evaluate that outcome to see if it is taking you closer to your goal or not. Remember that the more action you have taken the more reliable your evaluation will be.

The "D" in succeed stand for decision.

Once you have evaluated your outcomes it is time to make a decision whether to continue taking action according to your current action plan or whether you need to modify your action plan. When I say modify your plan I don't mean for you to suspend your action and go back to the drawing board. You still need to be taking goal directed action each and every day. The modifications I am talking about are done on the go while you are moving. It is just like steering a car; you have to be moving in order for the steering to produce any worthwhile result.

Concluding Remarks.

So if you want to succeed in life remember that the seven step formula is contained within the word succeed.

Set a clearly defined goal.

Unshakable belief.

Commit to doing what ever it will take to achieve your goal.

Create an action plan.

Execute your action plan.

Evaluate your outcomes.

Decide whether to continue with or modify your action plan.

Goal Setting, Personal Planning and Success – How to set very SMART goals!

Goal setting, is a skill that you have to learn if you want success. Goal setting, personal planning and action are key elements in your success. Goal setting is so important that there has been a lot written on this topic.

The biggest challenge is setting goals and then going on to achieve them. If you can set goals according to your personal plan and you can get into the habit of achieving them you will have success. However many people fail to follow through on their goals.

The secret is to use a simple, basic process for setting your goals and make sure that you have some means of achieving them, without making them so easy that they don’t really stretch you.

The four keys to success in Goal setting

There are four main elements to a good goal, encompassed in the acronym S.M.A.R.T. This stands for:

Specific – your goals should be specific, as specific as you can make them. The more specific they are the easier it will be for you to know when you’ve achieved them and to measure your progress towards achieving them. Rather than say “I want to make a lot of money” a good goal would say “I want an income of $5000 per month by October 1st 2006”. Can you see the difference.

You might hesitate to be specific because you might not know what you can achieve – pick a number that seems exciting but not completely insane and go with it.

Measurable Make sure you can measure your goal – if you can’t measure it, how will you know you’ve got it? “I want an income of $5000 per month by October 1st 2006” fits the bill nicely!

You may want to set a goal in some other area of your life where the measurement may be more difficult – e.g. you may want to improve your relationship with your spouse or your boss. Think about how you’re going to know when you’re there – will it mean no more rows, will it mean something else like you eat out together once a week? Think of something that is going to be evidence of achieving your goal.

Realistic This is a tricky one – you have to balance the need for your goal to be achievable with the need for your goal to stretch you. Goals that do not stretch you simply won’t inspire you – would you really get excited about doing your weekly grocery shop 1 day earlier? On the other hand setting a goal to be 10 feet tall is just not going to happen unless you end up in a delusional state!

You will need to use your own judgement here. You will also need to practise the art of goal setting – as you set goals more often in a particular area, you are going to get better at judging what’s achievable but realistic for you. Accept that you may need to learn by trail and error at first.

Time-bound You’ve got to know when you want your goal to be finished. Our money example does this very well. The object of setting goals is to move your forward in your life, this has to happen by a certain time or you will die before you get there. Your goals simply must be time-bound. Choosing the time frame can make the difference between a realistic and an unrealistic goal (doubling your income next week might be a bit difficult, over 5 years it should be easily achievable).

Be SMART when you are setting your goals and take the actions you need to achieve them and you will be well on the road to success.

How do you know if a person is willing to attain self improvement? This is a question with no definite answer. It will all depend on the individual.

Many people have goals, dreams or ambitions but do not know how to go about achieving them. They may have thought about what would make up self improvement and their ideal life, but have no idea how to even begin to make the plans and take the actions required to make them a reality.

Some people have a vague idea on how to go about self improvement. These are the ones that believe that if only they had a better job, or had been given better opportunities, or met the love of their life, or whatever else, everything would be fine and they would be happy.

They feel that their happiness or lack of happiness is decided by external factors and their thoughts and actions are of little consequence.

Some believe that if only they had more money they could have whatever they want and be on their way to self improvement.

They may have spent little time thinking about what they actually want from life, and do not really believe there is anything they can do to create their fuzzy version of utopia anyway, apart from buying more lottery tickets.

Other people do not even know what they actually want from their lives and may even have little idea what would really makes them happy. They seem to just drift from day to day, week to week, month to month, and year to year, and do little more than just about get by.

They may have seemingly secure jobs and be earning enough to live relatively comfortable lives. They seem happy enough and have no great ambition to achieve anything more from their lives than they currently have.

Is self improvement important?

The reality is that throughout our lives we are all constantly growing and developing. Circumstances make us grow and develop, even if we do not make the conscious decision to do so.

Up to a certain age, we learn through formal education and we continue to learn through our experiences for the rest of our lives. We have to learn and grow to deal with everything that life throws at us. We all have to go through self improvement.

Modern life moves at a dramatically faster pace than at anytime in history. For anyone living in modern society there are more opportunities to do anything that you want to do with your life than ever before.

But there is also more competition than ever before, and ever changing technology means that there really are few, if any ‘jobs for life’ anymore. It is now normal not only to change jobs quite often throughout our working lives, but even to completely change careers and industries.

Because the workplace is so competitive, people who are ambitious and hungry for success know they need to learn new skills and knowledge to keep ahead of the pack. To attain this, self improvement is needed.

These are the people that will be most likely to keep their jobs, or progress within their chosen field, or that will be readily employable in different organizations or industries.

A commitment to self improvement and personal growth may well be the deciding factor in how anyone’s future will turn out.


30 Days To Success: For Big Changes And Small

Changes that can be adopted for 30 days can last a lifetime. But adopting habits or changes for 30 days gives benefits even if the changes are small. These benefits include increased confidence, discipline, and the feelings of success and accomplishment.

For example, stopping smoking for 30 days might be a particularly tough goal for some people -- although, it's certainly easier than imagining yourself quitting forever. (Of course, once you've quit for 30 days, who'd want to start back up?)

On the other hand, paying someone a compliment each day for 30 days is probably a bit easier to handle. It's not as stressful and, to be honest, it could actually be fun. After 30 days, of paying complements you'll probably find that you are more inclined to compliment people in general. As a result you'll likely make friends a bit easier and have more success in any situation where you have to interact with other people. Just because the 30 day goal you set isn't big, that doesn't mean it isn't useful or valuable.

The first 30 day goal I set, for example, was to not drink any alcohol for 30 days. I'd been going through a difficult personal time and had started drinking more than was normal for me. I wasn't having major problems, but still -- I knew I needed to cut back. I'd been telling myself I needed to cut back but I just hadn't been able to get started. The idea of just stopping for 30 days seemed like it wouldn't be too hard. I was able to accomplish this 30 day goal and I felt great -- I felt a real sense of accomplishment! It went quickly and I felt real success!

And I noticed a real impact on my life as well. I wasn't as tired each morning and, as a result, had an easier time getting up to exercise before work. After 30 days I was able to choose whether or not I wanted to go back to drinking (now I occasionally have a glass or two of wine). I feel good about the choices I've made.

Starting with a relatively small goal was the right thing for me. It had immediate positive impacts, plus gave me confidence. It was just what I needed to break my routine and make the changes I wanted.

30 days to success with small things -- or with big things -- is a simple, quick way to grab some immediate success and get immediate results. It's a success plan we can all work with.

Here are some small 30 Days Success Plans you can use to get started.

·         Compliment someone each day for 30 days.

2. Be Willing to take a risk. One of the most debilitating effects of low self esteem is that you can end up unable to take any risks at all. Evaluate the action that you perceive as risky. Is it really that risky? Do lots of other people do it every day? Use positive self talk to encourage yourself to take the risk.

Once you’ve done what you set out to do evaluate the experience. You will be surprised to find that more often than not you were more successful than you expected to be. Let yourself know that you are capable of coping.

3. Focus on your achievements. Work on your self belief by focussing on what you’ve achieved. If you start looking at the things that you perceive as failures, stop immediately. Reset your thinking and ask yourself what did I learn from that, how can I turn it into something good?

Spend some time at the end of every day reviewing what you’ve achieved during the day. Be honest with yourself, you have achieved something every day. Don’t worry if it’s only a tiny step, you’re moving in the right direction.

Always remeber you can break free of low self esteem. Seeking external help can make a difference, but there are many things that you can do for yourself. If you apply the ideas in this article every day, you will start to notice your self esteem growing day by day.

Goal Personal Planning Setting Success – Here Is The Secret Of Long Term Success.

Daily time management is an important tool in helping you to achieve your short term and long term goals. Time management is very effective in helping you to achieve your short term goals, but you can loose site of your long term goals when you focus on such short chunks of time.

To make sure you don’t loose sight of your long term goals, you need to learn a new skill – self management.

Self management

There are 5 aspects to self management that you will need to master:

1. Use a weekly horizon for planning your daily activities. Set aside some time regularly every week to plan the following week. This is usually best done on a weekend when you have some time to reflect on last week and thing about your next week. Plan all the major things you want to achieve, but make sure you leave enough time to be flexible. One thing is certain: you plans will need to be adjusted on a daily basis as urgent, short term issues crop up.

2. Review your progress against your goals on a regular basis. Your short term goals should be reviewed every week, longer term goals can be reviewed less often. Goal reviewing is a good thing to do before your weekly planning session. Ask yourself, “how am I progressing, what problems have I encountered, what new information have I learnt that might cause me to adjust my goals?” If you need to, you can make adjustments to your goals to keep your plan as a living document.

3. To truly work your goals effectively, you will need to maintain focus on what you are doing. Focus is essential to success in any endeavour. The ability to set aside distractions and minor urgent crises so that you can work on your long term goals is essential. You may find that you get less short term gratification when you work on your long term goals, but over the course of time you will receive far more deep and long lasting satisfaction.

4. Maintaining a program of regular reviewing and goal setting requires a high degree of discipline. If you do not have enough discipline, you will not be able to form the positive habit of regular reviewing. You may well start with good intentions, but the numerous distractions of life will intervene and you will gradually stop doing it.

5. You will need to develop an attitude of patience and persistence. The rewards of self management are often not immediate. You should take some reward from the achievement of sticking to a program of self management, however, the real pay off is in the long term as you move towards your life goals, achieving all the things that you have dreamed about.

Effective goals setting and personal planning for success requires more than just good time management – you need to manage yourself effectively. Self management will enable you to continue to progress towards your life goals every day. When you build and maintain momentum on a daily basis, you can achieve extraordinary things!

It’s About Time

Ever find yourself wishing you had just a few more hours in the day to get it all done? Between work and family responsibilities alone, it can be challenging to juggle time for everything. Surely we were created for more than a life on a continuous treadmill where we never seem to catch up.

Futurists predicted that, in the 21st century, work would be done in virtual organizations and paperless offices. Some even said that the work week would drop to 35, or even 30 hours, and that too much leisure time could become a problem.

Has that been your experience? It's not what I see happening with the busy professionals I work with everyday. Over the past quarter-century, the number of hours spent working has continued to rise. The constant pressure to reduce costs and to do more with less often leaves employees in an unending cycle of overwork and overwhelm which ultimately leads to decreased productivity and efficiency in the organization. With the extra work and increased pace we strive to keep up with, we are quickly catapulted into a world of stress, exhaustion and even health problems if we don't make our self- care a top priority.

What is the solution? Time management can help. Or rather, more effective use of time can help. When you think about it, you don't really manage time, you manage yourself and how you choose to spend each 24 hour day you are given. By having tools and support available, you can better manage yourself and the choices you make.

Top 5 Tips for Managing Time

1. Stop using time as an excuse. We all have the same 24 hours in a day You choose how you use your 1,440 precious minutes each day. If someone - or something - else is determining how you use your minutes and hours, now may be an excellent time to look at changes you need to make.

2. Find out where you spend your time. It may sound odd to suggest taking time in an already busy schedule to assess how you are using time, but do know where you are spending your time? Try tracking your time for the next week and see just what you are doing with your 24 hours. This exercise will help you identify opportunities for changes to alleviate time pressures.

3. Simplify your life. Clear your schedule of time-consuming activities that are not essential. Over-volunteering, doing other people's work, relationships that are not working... these are a great place to start simplifying and reclaiming valuable time.

4. Be intentional about scheduling. If you want to accomplish a task, you must be intentional about scheduling it. For example, if you want to go to the gym to workout, you must put it on your calendar and plan for time to get there and back as well as for your workout. Insert it into your schedule, and then guard the time carefully to make sure nothing gets in the way of you getting it done.

5. Zap Time Wasters. Time wasted can never be regained. A few examples... browsing the Internet, email, chatting with co-workers, looking for things, and talking on the phone. Zap these time bandits by: scheduling a time to return phone calls and email, getting organized so that time is not wasted looking for tools and papers or using an Internet reminder service to keep track of important dates or events.

It is human nature to do the easy tasks first or the actions that do not achieve the results that you desire for your business. This is the greatest enemy to your success. Do only (A) actions, the actions that move you in the direction of your goals.

HOURLY WAGE - NOT YEARLY INCOME. Successful people think in terms of how much they are worth an hour and only do actions that will help them achieve their desired results. Think about it… What are you doing right now? What are the tasks you perform every day to move you closer to your goals. Are they worth $50 an hour? Would you pay someone else $50 an hour to do what you did today? Remember you only get paid for results.

If you could do only 1 thing all day long, what would contribute the most value to your business? What 2 things… What 3 things… Do fewer things, do more of those fewer things and get better at them!

SKILLS: What skill do you need that would have the greatest impact on your income? Your weakest skill normally determines your income. All business skills are learnable! Believe that you ARE one skill away from doubling your income.

RESULTS: Ask yourself, of all the results that I could get, what one result would help my business the most?

YOU, your thoughts, your actions, determine your success. You hold your success in your hands. How do you BELIEVE it’s going to turn out?

What Fear Doesn’t Want You to Know

Do you have a fear or two that goes “bump in the night” now and then?

If you are human, the answer is “Yes.” We all have fears. Some are real. Some are imagined. And some are so sensitive and emotionally-charged that we guard them in our hearts and keep them a closely-guarded secret.

Fear is a very human experience, so don’t think less of yourself if you have one or two. It’s a consequence of being human. We all have to deal with fear.

The fears that rattle us the most often have little to do with life or death. They usually involve far less dramatic subjects such as public speaking, going broke, or somehow appearing foolish.

If you admit to yourself that you have a fear or two, I’ll tell you the secret that fear does not want you to know.

Confront fear and it runs away. Fear is afraid you will discover this secret. When you do, you can banish fear at will.

Regardless of what the fear is, it slinks away as soon as you resolutely stare it down and say with authority in your voice “Take a hike!”

Invariably, you realize that your fear wasn’t as big, bad, and ill-tempered as you thought. In fact, it didn’t even have the backbone to face up to you when you faced up to it.

That’s what fear doesn’t want you to know. It’s really a coward. All you have to do is stand tall in its path and it shrinks away.

Here’s a simple technique I designed that empowers you to do this. For maximum effectiveness, do this in front of a mirror when you have a few minutes alone.

Take a deep breath. Elevate your gaze as if looking at a point just above a distant horizon.

Recall a time when you confronted someone and made your point forcefully and successfully. The time, place, and circumstances are not important. What is important is that you somehow got so worked up that you got into action and met the situation with a burst of unwavering determination.

Perhaps you did this out of righteous indignation. Perhaps you finally decided “Enough’s enough! I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!” Perhaps you were simply “sick and tired of being sick and tired.”

Whatever the case, revisit this memory. See the scene as if through you own eyes. See, hear, and feel the scene from the perspective of just behind your eyes.

As you replay this experience, let your body assume the same posture and movements as you did at that time. Trust your mind to recreate your expression and tone of voice.

Yes. I know you are talking to yourself. That’s why I suggested that you do this when you have a few solitary moments!

Let your imagination recreate your state of mind and all the gestures, expressions, and tone of voice that went with it. Then let your mind “cut and paste” that past moment into the present one.

Now imagine your fear. Trust your mind to give it a face. Let your imagination do its job without your interference and it will present you with a face you’ll love to confront.

Use your past experience as a guide, template, and point of reference. While still standing in front of the mirror, confront your fear in the same manner as you did in your real-life experience. Almost immediately, you will look, sound, and feel as you did in your point of reference experience. As you recreate the experience physically and verbally, you will notice a feeling of confidence and resolute determination.

So what happened to the fear?

It ran away and it didn’t take long, did it?

I’ve observed that if anything takes a while about this technique, it’s the sense of feeling a little silly about doing it! Once one gets over that, it’s really a lot of fun. And it feels so good!

So now you know fear’s secret fear. Confront it and banish it at will.

Remember this secret and fear will never limit your dreams again.

Consider two people. The first person fully and confidently expects to be successful in life. The second person fully expects to fail. We’ll start them off with the same opportunities and problems to overcome…

If you expect success you will encounter the same challenges as the other person, but you won’t get put off by the problems you encounter. The successful person views problems as learning opportunities or at worst, nothing more than minor delays on the way to inevitable success.

On the other hand, if you expect failure, you’re going to find it very discouraging every time something goes wrong. Problems you encounter are just going to reinforce your expectations of failure. Problems are seen as roadblocks and major pitfalls as you struggle to maintain your status quo. Very soon, you’re going to be falling behind that person with higher expectations of success.

Improve your success quotient

The chances are you expectations of success vary from day to day and with the different goals you are trying to achieve in your life. If you are attempting something that you are confident is going to be easy for you, you will have a high expectation of success and a very good chance of being successful.

On the other hand, if you are tackling a really daunting task, your expectations of success will be much lower…

The important thing is your average expectation of success. If you expect to succeed at most things and just fail occasionally you are likely to have a successful life. If you expect to fail at most things and just occasionally succeed, your life will be correspondingly less successful.

Self Improvement And Success Go Hand In Hand More Than You Think...

How do you know if a person is willing to attain self improvement? This is a question with no definite answer. It will all depend on the individual.

Many people have goals, dreams or ambitions but do not know how to go about achieving them. They may have thought about what would make up self improvement and their ideal life, but have no idea how to even begin to make the plans and take the actions required to make them a reality.

Some people have a vague idea on how to go about self improvement. These are the ones that believe that if only they had a better job, or had been given better opportunities, or met the love of their life, or whatever else, everything would be fine and they would be happy.

They feel that their happiness or lack of happiness is decided by external factors and their thoughts and actions are of little consequence.

Some believe that if only they had more money they could have whatever they want and be on their way to self improvement.

They may have spent little time thinking about what they actually want from life, and do not really believe there is anything they can do to create their fuzzy version of utopia anyway, apart from buying more lottery tickets.

Other people do not even know what they actually want from their lives and may even have little idea what would really makes them happy. They seem to just drift from day to day, week to week, month to month, and year to year, and do little more than just about get by.

They may have seemingly secure jobs and be earning enough to live relatively comfortable lives. They seem happy enough and have no great ambition to achieve anything more from their lives than they currently have.

Is self improvement important?

The reality is that throughout our lives we are all constantly growing and developing. Circumstances make us grow and develop, even if we do not make the conscious decision to do so.

Up to a certain age, we learn through formal education and we continue to learn through our experiences for the rest of our lives. We have to learn and grow to deal with everything that life throws at us. We all have to go through self improvement.

Modern life moves at a dramatically faster pace than at anytime in history. For anyone living in modern society there are more opportunities to do anything that you want to do with your life than ever before.

But there is also more competition than ever before, and ever changing technology means that there really are few, if any ‘jobs for life’ anymore. It is now normal not only to change jobs quite often throughout our working lives, but even to completely change careers and industries.

Because the workplace is so competitive, people who are ambitious and hungry for success know they need to learn new skills and knowledge to keep ahead of the pack. To attain this, self improvement is needed.

These are the people that will be most likely to keep their jobs, or progress within their chosen field, or that will be readily employable in different organizations or industries.

A commitment to self improvement and personal growth may well be the deciding factor in how anyone’s future will turn out.


Fear That I Do Not Deserve Success

Are you striving for personal and professional success and not reaching your goals? Do you feel you deserve success? Could it be that you feel guilty about something you did or did not do that is causing you to feel bad about yourself and sabotage all your efforts?

I am convinced that 99% of us are blocking our health, happiness, and success because we do not believe we deserve it. I learned about this common unconscious fear as I was counseling clients as a Marriage, Family Therapist. I was surprised to discover that this negative thought was preventing men, women, and children from reaching their goals.

When I assisted clients of all ages to overcome this major self-defeating thought, they were able to make the changes they desired.

I also know that we are all basically good, because clients who were not even caught doing something wrong still felt guilty, and punished themselves by sabotaging their success.

An example of this is Joan, a fifty-year-old woman, who made a lot of money and then lost it all. To help Joan, I guided her through the HART process (Holistic And Rapid Transformation). I asked her to close her eyes and say, "I can't be successful, because ____," and finish the sentence. Joan replied, "I can't be successful, because I am bad." I then said, "Go back the time you decided that you were bad." Joan saw herself stealing money out of her parents' cash register when she was ten years old. No one caught her, but she still felt guilty, and she was punishing herself forty years later.

I then asked Joan to imagine that her parents were there in the store and to speak to them. She said, "Mom and Dad, I am really sorry. Please forgive me." Then Joan imagined that they were forgiving her and she forgave herself. At that point, she sighed with relief and said, "Wow! I have been carrying that around for a long time."

We can feel guilty about anything no matter how long ago it happened. It is important to become aware of anything we believe was wrong. Then we can stop punishing ourselves by letting it go with forgiveness.

Another example of this fear of success is the case of a seventeen-year-old athlete. Rick was doing very well in sports until he fell and severely hurt his knee. Rick realized that when his parents spanked him as a young child he had decided that he must be a bad person. Therefore, Rick concluded that he did not deserve to be successful.

I have found that men or women, who leave a relationship or other commitment, very often feel guilty. Jim, a thirty-six-year-old man, had left his wife and children two years ago. He was still feeling depressed and unhappy in his work and new relationship.

To assist Jim, I asked him to close his eyes and imagine that he was a judge in a courtroom. He was looking at an image of himself as the prisoner, who was up for parole. I said, "Judge, tell the prisoner what he did wrong and what his sentence should be." Jim replied, "You are a terrible person. You left your wife and children. I am sentencing you to a lifetime of misery!"

I continued, "Okay, Jim. Send him back to prison for life." But then the judge answered, "No! I want you to have three more years of pain." "All right," I said. Then the judge Jim continued, "No. Today is Jim's birthday. He has suffered enough. Prisoner Jim, you are free to go and be happy,"

This empowering process assisted Jim to let go of his guilt, leave his self-made prison, and go on with his life. That is what we all need to do. Only then can we believe that we deserve success and happiness. Only then can we allow ourselves to reach our goals. The truth is you deserve health, happiness, and success. Go for it!

The Most Important Success Principle You Will Ever Learn

There are lots of different success principles and strategies and all of them are valuable, however there is one success principle that is so important that without it none of the other principles can really help you. This principle is the key to how to program your subconscious mind.

Think for a moment about a computer. Computers have become a part of our everyday life and we take for granted all the marvelous things that they can do for us. What we rarely, if ever, stop to think about is that every program on a computer, regardless of what programming language it is written in, must be decoded into the computer's own native language before the computer can do anything.

Your subconscious mind is a lot like that computer. It has its own language that it understands and to program it effectively you have to communicate with it in that language. This language is not English or Spanish or French or Chinese or any of the other spoken languages.

The language of your subconscious mind is emotion. In order to program your subconscious mind you need to use your feelings.

You have probably heard that when you want to recruit your subconscious mind that you need to state things in the positive and to state them in the present moment and to write a detailed description of your goal. This is very true but most people are missing the point of these strategies. It isn't the words that are programming your mind.

What you are using the words for is to help you create the feeling of what it would be like to already have the goal you are seeking. If those words don't create that feeling then they are of no use to you at all.

This is why some people rarely get their goals no matter how many times they repeat their objectives or no matter how many positive affirmations they recite. These people are saying the positive things at the level of the conscious mind but at the level of feeling they are imagining failure. If your words and feelings contradict each other it is always the message from the feelings that you subconscious mind accepts.

This principle seems very simple but in practice most people find it very difficult to summon up the deep emotional feelings of already experiencing their goal as if it was fully achieved. In order to help achieve this they have to use some strategies to trigger the right emotions.

These strategies include using pictures of your goal, reciting positive affirmations about what it feels like to be living that goal, mixing with other people who already have that goal, finding ways to experience the goal, for example renting your goal car for the weekend so that you can really feel what it is like to drive it.

The crucial thing to remember with all these strategies is that the job of the strategy is to help you create the feeling. Only the feeling can program your subconscious mind. If you are trying to lose weight, for example, then you can use every imagery and verbal trick in the book but if you feel fat then fat is what is programmed into your subconscious.

Being able to create a truly strong emotional feeling of experiencing your goal as if you have already achieved it takes practice, usually lots and lots of practice. Put aside some time each and every day to become better and better at creating those goal feelings and soon you will have your goal in real life.

Meditations: Using Meditation to Master The Art Of Success

Quick question before we start, please raise your hand if you have achieved everything you wanted to achieve in your life. Let me ask you another question … do you have a passion to succeed or to achieve something? Are you programmed to succeed? Would you like to know how?

There are many theories that have been written by experts, historians and psychologists across the world and also across time on success but the one thing every single one of them always defines as the secret to success is that you must believe you are going to succeed and that you can achieve what you want to achieve and that you are prepared to continue to have a go and keep having a go, learning each time, till you achieve what it is that you want to achieve.

If you ever get a chance to read a book by Napoleon Hill called Think and Grow Rich it is worth reading. The author, Napoleon Hill wrote this book back in 1937 and he was basically looking for a formula that anyone could follow to achieve success and in particular riches on an obscene scale. One of the 13 Secrets that he outlines in his book is that all millionaires and in this era billionaires know is the power of Autosuggestion. This was the term that was bandied around in the 1930's era and essentially autosuggestion means the reprogramming of your mind to believe something so much that your mind automatically pushes you towards success and in the case of Think and Grow Rich, obscene wealth.

In today's hip culture, the guru's of the self-help industry refer to the power of autosuggestion more as affirmations than the autosuggestion term however they are essentially the same. The bottom line is this, for you to succeed you have to believe that you can succeed and you have to train your mind to succeed and to think successfully.

Most people at this point and I are sure you are one of them, will go, yeah right what a load of hippy talk. Well maybe, but let us look at few facts. Let us look at some of the most successful people in the world and take someone who I am a great fan of Lance Armstrong and look closely at what he has achieved. Lance Armstrong is a leader and a hero in the cycling community. After being diagnosed with testicular cancer which had spread to his lungs and brain he fought this disease whole heartedly and not only beat the disease, but he used the power of his mind to go onto win the Tour de France, not once, not twice but seven times.

There is no way in the world that this man could beat such a debilitating disease unless he had programmed his mind to say, I will beat this disease and get my life back and exceed what I had achieved before. In fact, going onto win the Tour de France seven times is a feat never before achieved in the history of the race.

Knowing this information if you were faced with absolute adversity what would you do? Would you just simply stop, give up and die or would you keep fighting? Would you beat your adversity and then stop, or would you push your goals further out there to achieve more?

If you want to be successful, you must train your mind to be successful. You must have an overwhelming belief or faith in yourself that you can do it, even when everyone around you is telling you that you can not do it. The key to this success is to program you for success.

When I was doing a business course a few months ago one of the tasks that we were given was to write down ten things that we wanted to achieve. We were asked to identify specifically what those ten things are in business we wanted to achieve. The sort of items people wrote down –

1. I am going to make $200,000 cash profit this year

2. I am going to buy a new Mercedes

3. I am going to buy a jet ski

4. I am going to raise $500,000 to build an orphanage in Laos

5. I am going to buy the block Lot 4 Coral Coast Road in Townsville Australia

6. I am going to take my family to Las Vegas and have $5,000 spending money

7. I am going to raise the $4,000 to buy a Vintage Plane for the RAAF Museum

8. I am going to win the Archery at the next Commonwealth Games

9. I am going to learn to fly a plane

10. I am going to hike up Mount Kosciusko

What people were then told was to right these elements down onto a sheet of paper and put them up where you could see them every day where you can read them and remind yourself of what you are going to achieve. Essentially what they told us to do is to follow the third secret to success identified by Napoleon Hill called Autosuggestion.

However, what I noticed with all the people in course was that over a period of time, they began to give up. They did not read their ten items every day and they did not affirm that they would achieve what they wanted each day. Part of the reason this occurs is simply because the hustle, bustle and stress of everyday life and reality take over and your mind is cluttered with the stress. When the course finished they did not have the people in the course to continually speak with them to see if they were sticking to their ten things they wanted to achieve.

Look ask any educator in the world, if you are stressed when trying to learn something, you will never learn the material as well as somebody who is not stressd. Why … because a mind that is not stressed and cluttered will allow you to absorb the information more effectively than somebody who does not and this leads me to how Meditation is one of the secret tools to success.

Meditation on its own will NOT bring you success. The role of meditation in the art of success is to bring your mind to a point of calm where it can absorb all the material to help you succeed and in particular, so that you can ingrain into your mind the affirmations of what you are going to achieve.

The first step in using meditation to help you succeed is to learn to meditate to eliminate the stress. Before trying to address anything else you must learn to relax and be calm and to clear your mind. That is, your mind must be free from clutter, worry, concerns and anything else that may stop you from programming your mind to succeed.

There are many meditations that will help you in overcoming stress such as the breathing meditation technique, stillness meditation technique and the numbers meditation technique. Each of these techniques will teach you how to achieve focus and calm during your meditation session.

Once you have mastered those techniques, you can then focus on your affirmations or autosuggestions each day of what you are going to achieve. The Buddhists use sacred phrases in their meditations to help them become better people on their journey towards achieving enlightenment. You can use the affirmations or ten things you want to achieve in exactly the same way. By reflecting on the ten things you want to achieve during meditation, you are reinforcing what you want to achieve in the way of success and ingraining in a clear mind these affirmations or autosuggestions, which means you will maintain your focus to achieve these ten things even when you are challenged by what is going on in your day. When you start using this technique over a period of time, you will be amazed how your mind will say to you, "Hey, you are off focus on what you want to achieve get back on focus".

I recommend that for meditation to work effectively that you spend no less than 20 minutes in the morning and night meditating on the 10 things you must achieve. The reason that I recommend meditating twice a day is that you need to be reflecting on your affirmations for a minimum of 20 minutes a day, however most people find that it takes them about ten minutes of their meditation time before they are truly calm, when they are first starting out. You will find though as time goes on and you meditate regularly that you are able to get to a state of calm a lot quicker than when you first start out.

Look the bottom line is this, if you want to succeed, you must believe inside of yourself that you can achieve whatever success you want. It is totally up to you as to what you want to achieve and only you can do it. Remember, that every great achievement in the world started out as a single thought that one person believed in enough to what to achieve it. To stay on the path to success, meditation will help you to control the clutter and the stress the world can pile on you on a day-to-day basis in your mind.

Quick Inspiration: Self Improvement And Success

Everything that happens to us happens in purpose. And sometimes, one thing leads to another. Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success.

I remember watching Patch Adams – its my favorite movie, actually. Its one great film that will help you improve yourself. Hunter “patch”
Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts – he decided to seek for medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward. His months of stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people. Sick people in that matter. He met a catatonic, a mentally retarded, a schizophrenic and so on. Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realized he has to get back on track. He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pains he has gone through, he still want to become the a doctor. He carries with himself a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn’t only improved himself, but also the life of the people around him and the quality of life. Did he succeed? Needless to say, he became the best damn doctor his country has ever known.
